Picasso and Bull
Category:Identity, Web Design
Picasso and Bull is an early child learning centre in Shanghai. They offer classes in music, drama, dance, art and business for children in both English and Chinese.
I provided conceptual development and creation of the brand mark as part of an identity. The brief was to create a logo around the two words “Picasso” and “Bull”. Picasso being a reference to Spanish artist Pablo Picasso which signifies their creative educational focus. The reference to the “Bull” or Ox in Chinese culture represents hard work, strength, methodical progress and rigid determination.
Using these 2 elements I sought to create a simple, approachable and fun brand mark that at it’s centre references creativity and learning. The colour palette is bright and simple. The form and style of the elements are both modern and minimal and have a clear but subtle connection to some of Picasso’s more analytical cubist works. I also created the initial website.
I gave Johnny Haru our design brief detailing our concept and ideas for our new company logo. He took our brief and designed a modern, artistic and intelligent graphic referencing our company name and our core goals for educating youths in Shanghai. We are very pleased with the results and will continue to send more design work his way! Thanks very much Johnny!
